Urchin Hook

Our Urchin Hook gives a new option in rigging for the urchin baits. Featuring a 4/0 or 6/0 black nickel Mustad hook and stainless wire keeper, these hooks will give you an advantage over all other rigging options out there. With the weight being behind the urchin bait, it keeps the bait from rolling and keeps the hook point facing upward. This gives you a much better hook up ratio and helps eliminate the dreaded hook in the tongue. To rig the bait on the hook, simply use a flat head screwdriver or drill bit to widen the hole in the urchin bait and slide it down over the eyelet of the hook until it is sitting on the wire keeper. The bait won't be able to slide past the weight on the hook, so you won't be losing these pricy baits. We offer 4 weights for different options of fall rate and depth where the buoyancy of the bait will suspend. 2 hooks per pack

3/32- Fall Rate: 1 foot per ~2.5 seconds Depth for suspension: 15-18 feet

1/8- Fall Rate: 1 foot per ~2 seconds Depth for suspension: 18-21 feet

3/16- Fall Rate: 1 foot per ~1.5 seconds Depth for suspension: 21-25 feet

1/4- Fall Rate: 1 foot per ~1 second Depth for suspension: 25-30 feet
